Key Takeaways:
- OKXICE informed the SEC about its plan to establish an online platform called “Tokenized Securities Venue” that would be used by US investors.
- More than sixty companies are covered by this document, such as 63 NYSE-listed stocks.
- Crypto-style 24/7 infrastructure would be brought to regulated equity markets by this project.
This time OKX is entering the world of tokens by investing in American stocks via an alliance between them and Intercontinental Exchange. It follows that this is soon established by the SEC as an interim system for on-chain trading of tokenized US stock securities.
A 63-Stock Launch Plan
OKXICE has told the SEC that it intends to launch a Tokenized Securities Venue, or TSV, under the regulator’s new Innovation Exemption.
Andrew Cuomo, former New York governor and co-chair of OKXICE, said the notice covers more than 60 companies listed on U.S. stock exchanges. The initial group is reported to include 63 NYSE-listed companies.
Today we are announcing a major step forward for OKXICE, the joint venture between @okx and Intercontinental Exchange, parent company of @NYSE:
OKXICE has notified the SEC that we intend to launch our Tokenized Securities Venue (TSV) under the SEC’s new Innovation Exemption.
Our notice includes more than 60 companies listed on U.S. stock exchanges.
This is a landmark step toward a truly global, 24/7 Wall Street — and toward keeping the future of digital finance anchored here in the United States.
The digital asset revolution is already transforming our financial system. Tokenized securities are part of what comes next.
And we’re just getting started.

Blockchain based platforms will be used for trading on tokens of conventional stocks/shares. Instead of developing more off-shore cryptocurrencies like this, OKXICE wants to be regulated by US laws.
This is a good way to evaluate whether tokens are suitable as investments within current markets of securities.

Tokenization Goes Beyond Price Tracking
Tokenized securities must have their own set of rights and privileges associated with them under a SEC regulation. It also provides shareholders with dividend payments and voting privileges. It also permits qualified exchanges to utilize permitted automated markets and liquidity pools through them.
It differentiates between regulated tokenized securities and products which merely provide investors with access to stocks via their tokens on blockchains.
OKX Brings Crypto Infrastructure to Wall Street
OKXICE is a combination of OKX’s digital asset technologies and ICE’s market infrastructures. ICE is a subsidiary of NYSE. This relationship provides an advantage over other cryptocurrency companies which are independent of launching tokenized stocks.
OKX is currently operating on an international scale for equity tokens outside of the U.S.; however, this new platform will focus more specifically upon markets that have strong regulations about security issues as well as investors’ protection laws and shareholders’ rights. Thus this collaboration brings blockchain closer than ever before to conventional US stock markets.

The 24/7 Trading Model
The project is being framed by Cuomo as an international, round-the-clock Wall Street. While crypto markets are always open to trade 24/7, stocks have set market days for buying and selling securities during business hours. Blockchain technology can link tokenized securities to traditional markets through a network where they are traded on an exchange but retain their own set of rules as opposed to being separated from them.
It’s more than just making stock trading like cryptocurrency. However, instead of this approach, OKXICE aims at creating an orderly marketplace for cryptocurrencies that are backed by real-world investments while retaining their ownership rights.
September Order of SEC is a temporary, conditional relief for Tokenized Securities Venue and liquidity providers operating under this framework. Relief allows for testing of on-chain stocks trading whereas regulation takes time before implementing long term regulations.
