October 22, 2026Key Takeaways:
- The Meta Platforms tokenized shares have gone live on Solana under ticker $META.
- The token is issued by Backpack Securities and brought onto chain by Sunrise, for 24/7 trading.
- Users who qualify will be able to exchange $META to obtain conventional Meta shares via the Backpack at 1:1 value.
Crypto users can now tokenize their exposure to a major U.S. public company, as Meta Platforms stock moves to Solana. Meta Platforms’ shares are listed under the same ticker on the Nasdaq as the new $META token, issued by Backpack Securities.
Tokenized Meta Shares Enter Solana Markets
Solana announced that $META had gone live through Sunrise, expanding the network’s growing market for tokenized equities. Unlike a standard trading hour, the token will have unrestricted trading hours, supported by a collator from Meta Platforms stock.

Backpack states that each token is equivalent to one META share and can be used on its securities exchange as 1:1 redemptions; subject to eligibility and verification of accounts.
The Solana token that has been featured most prominently is the META aH6MMZZgy2CTEJq3QdNi7AFVTV3NxHFBfFgLEDd token. The Backpack-issued META token is currently listed in a Solana token directory to represent a handful of tokens representing Meta.

$META Can Move Between Onchain and Brokerage Form
There is a conversion flow in both directions. $META from a supported Meta share withdrawn through Backpack can be withdrawn and converted back to $META on Solana. It can be added again later to Backpack and turned into the equivalent traditional security.
That structure gives eligible investors a bridge between blockchain liquidity and conventional brokerage holdings.
This is in line with Backpack Securities’ larger plan with regards to tokenized stocks on Solana. In the past, Solana spoke about its securities token having a corresponding security issued by the Backpack, through a circuitous brokerage and custody structure, which would be transferrable at 1:1 ratio.
24/7 Trading Pushes Tokenized Stocks Beyond Market Hours
One of $META’s biggest advantages as a job compared with a relatively conventional broker role is that it has more flexibility in its hours of operation. Beyond regular trading hours, weekends, and time zones, the token will be available for trading on Solana.
That is the same model that Backpack has been using on tokenized-stocks like RIOT, CMG, other securities, and it turnaround 24/7 tradable securities that can be redeemed 1-1 with the stock, using Backpack Securities.
The token is also to be trading in an established trading ecosystem on Solana, not as an isolated product.
Earlier reported by Solana, tokenized equity stocks on the network have seen billions of dollars of cumulative activity, and some of these have included Backpack.
Solana Expands Its Tokenized Equity Market
With the arrival of Meta, Solana has yet another familiar name to join its real-world asset portfolio.
Besides, many listed securities have already been issued a token version by Backpack, and other platforms like Ondo have already grown up 24/7/commercialized token securities listed on their products.
